The player plays as Aloy, an outcast explorer who ventures through a post-apocalyptic world with robotic "animals". The map has forest, desert, jungle, and mountains. The weather system is changing fast between rain, sunshine, fog and show. The mountain terrain is rocky and has plenty of opportunity for parkour and use of zip-lines. Not in a silly hipster way like with Watch Dogs, which is pure cringe. It's in a natural way that fits the game. Corrupted Zones are areas with heightened difficulty with crazy corrupted and aggressive machines. To uncover the map, Aloy, the character, has to scale a Tallneck. A huge giraffe-like machine with a platform head. There are about 25 robot-creature designs in the world, so far. Who knows, updates may or may not come. Most likely not, since Sony is running the 'exclusive' strategy, even though this has proved less profitable in the long run again and again. Most people just want their games on Steam, and is not going to buy a PlayStation just for some exclusive titles. Just not happening. Save points and fast travel can be done by talking to campfires, either with the interact button or the home button. The main storyline is spread across the entire world, but there are plenty of side quests around the local tribes. Mostly repetitive gathering quests, but some with a small story to them as well. All in all, Horizon Zero Dawn is a very well-made and fun game, with a 'not too deep' plot, but with enough going on to engage and entertain.
